Lord Nicholas is the eldest grandchild of the Great Lord Templar, Robert of the Temple. After the death of said Lord Templar, Nicholas takes his father's place in the Far Land instead of his younger brother. Consequently, he spends six years in the Far Land leading the Templar Knights. As peace returns to the region, and control is returned to the rightful rulers of the lands, the Lord Templar decides to return home.

Sir Alexander is the captain of the Lord Templar's personal guard, having been raised through the ranks by the current Lord Templar. He has a keen sense of loyalty and justice and honour, and is stubborn.

Sir Daniel is the commander of a larger group of Templar knights, who is second to Sir Alexander. He is has a blood thirsty battle ethic, and will stop at nothing to deal out his own form of justice. He is a native of the Far Land.

Sir Matthias is the under dog to the two closest knight of the Lord Templar's retinue. He has a dark side which surfaces in the book, and he becomes twisted. He doesnt trust authority figures, unless he thinks he can manipulate them towards his own means.
[glow=cyan,2,300]Sir Cristobal[/glow]
Sir Cristobal is a native of the Far Land and is one of the closest knights in the Personal Guard. He is witty and has a dry sense of humour, but he also has a spiritual knowledge of his people. the Branded of the Desert.

The wise cracking squire of Sir Alexander, Cragstone dislikes the Far Land intensely. He may seem a bit dense at times, but he has been known to find a berserker form of strength at times of crisis. Sir Alexander doesn't understand him sometimes, but they get along amiably enough, both aware of their rise from the gutter in the Citadel to the presence of the Lord Templar.

Benever is the Squire to Sir Daniel, and his is a close friend to the knight. He is often the spokes person for the squires, and has a dry way to discuss sensitive issues. He has a great knowledge of the Citadel, having served as a man at arms before he was chosen as a squire.

Patron is from the Crystal city in the Far Land, and was already a man at arms when the Lord Templar came to the citadel. He dislikes the cold intensely, and is unwilling to be in the Old Country. However, he would prefer to follow the knights anywhere, rather than be stuck on patrol around the now dead City.

Lord Adiemus is another noble from the Old Country from which Lord Nicholas comes from. He is the younger son of the disgraced Lord Brian, who attempted to kill the Lord Templar in the Far Land. Lord Adiemus owes his soldiers to the Lord Templar, and also trusts Nicholas deeply. He once had a knight by the name of Sir Harold in his retinue, but he never saw him again after the band was ambushed by desert raiders several years ago.

Another Lord from the Old Country, Lord Samus does not often return to his home land, prefering to explore the desert regions of the Far Land. He is a fierce ally of the Lord Templar, and he still conducts the old order of chivalry and courteous behaviour. He is older than the Lord Templar, and often tries to assert his superiority into some war zone situation.

Lord Samus's first knight, Sir Damien is quick to crack a joke when the situation heats up. He is wise.

Paul is Lord Samus's man at arms, but he towers over the Lord and also acts as a scout. He hails from the City of Girma, in the Mountains in the Desert.

Amrit is a desert man who has travelled through most of the Far Land gaining knowledge of the peoples who live there. He is a good negotiator and linguist, and often difuses a situation before it explodes into name calling.

Absha is a desert mercenary, who has a foul tongue. He often ends up commenting with threats, which most people laugh off. He is not one to get angry.
